About Me:
Hi, I'm Max Meckoll, a passionate photographer and student at the University of Oregon, where I'm pursuing a double concentration in Marketing and Entrepreneurship through the prestigious Lundquist College of Business and the Clark Honors College. Yes, you read that right—I'm a business student, not a journalism student. But don't let that fool you or turn you away.
Photography isn't just a hobby—it's how I tell stories. In high school, I was a multimedia enthusiast, designing all of our school's shirts, graphics, and videos. When I arrived at the University of Oregon, photography became my focus, thanks to an opportunity with Ducks Football. Working with the team allowed me to hone my craft as a Photographer and Graphic Designer, capturing compelling visuals for games and recruits while also assisting in graphics.
Since then, I’ve further developed my skills by collaborating with other campus groups, including the UO Dance Team and UO Hockey Team. My goal is to elevate their media presence to the same high level I experienced with the football team. Two of my biggest milestones to date include being asked by Columbia Gorge News to shoot Oregon's State Track competition at Hayward Field—my first paid opportunity beyond individual and group photography—and being invited by Special Olympics Oregon, an organization I’ve been involved with and advocating for over the past 10+ years, to capture the Fall State Games.
My expertise in Adobe Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom), combined with my experience directing shoots, designing campaigns, and editing images, ensures that every project I take on is executed with precision and artistry.
Beyond the lens, I’ve embraced leadership roles as Vice President of Public Relations for the University of Oregon Interfraternity Council and as the Public Relations Chair for Sigma Nu. This past fall, I had the incredible opportunity to develop our fraternity's fall rush campaign, a major event at the University of Oregon. I designed graphics, took photos, and, most notably, created our rush video. The result? More views, likes, and overall engagement than any other fraternity campaign in the school’s history.
These experiences, along with my background in teaching, coaching, and community engagement, shape my collaborative and client-focused approach to photography.
Through Shot by Max M, I aim to deliver powerful visuals that resonate. Whether it’s capturing the fast-paced action of sports moments, crafting professional portraits, or producing promotional campaigns, my goal is to exceed expectations and bring visions to life.
